With more than 30 years of experience in the international film and television industry, Michel has worked on feature films, TV series, documentaries, commercials, and corporate productions across the Caribbean and abroad.
After 15 years working in the European film industry, Michel has been living and working on Curaçao since 2004, as well as throughout the islands of the former Netherlands Antilles and Suriname. With more than 30 years of experience as both a producer and location manager, he has an exceptional understanding of the region, its logistics, and the practical needs of production teams.
FilmCare was established in response to the growing demand for professional film and lighting equipment on Curaçao and in the surrounding Caribbean region. Productions that previously depended on expensive international shipments can now rely on a trusted local partner offering professional equipment, industry knowledge, and hands-on production support.
Through its partnership with the Dutch lighting rental company Lichtmacht, FilmCare has further expanded and strengthened its inventory and technical capabilities. This collaboration enables FilmCare to provide complete and flexible lighting, grip, and production equipment packages for both small-scale shoots and large international productions.
If a specific item is not available in-house, FilmCare can source it quickly and efficiently through its extensive network of industry partners. FilmCare is solution-oriented and supports productions from prep to wrap.
In addition, FilmCare has extensive experience in shipping film and lighting equipment throughout the Caribbean islands and Suriname. FilmCare can manage the entire logistics process, including transportation coordination, customs handling, import and export permits, and temporary import applications.
Even when a production does not have an ATA Carnet, or when the destination island or country is not part of the carnet system, FilmCare can assist with the required documentation and customs procedures.
